Hurricane Dorian is intensifying as it slowly tracks toward Florida. The latest update from the National Hurricane Center says the Category 4 storm is now packing sustained winds near 150 miles an hour as it churns about 415 miles east of West Palm Beach. The eye of the storm is moving west at about eight-miles-per-hour and is expected to reach the northern Bahamas by Sunday. Florida’s east coast is bracing for a direct hit late Monday through Tuesday, but Dorian’s path remains uncertain. Mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders are in effect for several Florida counties. Emergency preparations are also underway in the Carolinas and Georgia as the powerful storm approaches.
