Challenges Continue For Central Illinois Farmers
(Champaign County, IL) — Challenges are continuing for central Illinois farmers. Following a cold, rainy spring and then near-drought conditions, many combines are sitting idle during harvest season. Recent rains have made it difficult to get equipment into the fields, putting farmers behind schedule for harvest. Many are also seeing lower yields and are being met with low crop prices. Farmers are hoping to finish harvest quickly before more unpredictable fall weather sets in.
