According to Illinois State Police, a multiple vehicle traffic crash occured on Route 1 near 900 North early Wednesday Morning. According to preliminary details, around 7:47 a.m., a 2013 Red Ford Focus, a 2010 Red Toyota Camry, and a 2015 Black GMC Sierra were all traveling southbound on Route One when the Ford Focus struck the rear of the Toyota Camry. The Toyota Camery went off-road, and the Ford Focus continued southbound to strike the Black GMC Sierra, before finally continuing into northbound traffic and striking a 2006 Silver Chevrolet Equinox. The driver, and the passenger of the Ford Focus were both transported by ambulance to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The drivers of the Toyota Camry and the Chevrolet Equinox were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening inuries. Seatbelts were worn by all parties, charges are pending investigation.
