Decatur Teaching Assistants Planning To Strike
(Decatur, IL) — The Decatur Teaching Assistants union president says members are preparing for a possible strike. The union says a major sticking point in the negotiations is the cost of health care benefits. The school and the union have been bargaining since April and have made little progress, despite the help of a federal mediator. District representatives say they want to continue negotiating sessions, hoping to avoid a strike. The TA’s could strike as soon as Tuesday.
