Decatur Police Investigating Deadly Shooting
(Decatur, IL) — Decatur police are investigating after a deadly shooting. Authorities say 30-year-old Ernest Wren was shot and killed at the corner of 800 King Street and 900 Van Dyke Street on Friday. Police say a 26-year-old man was also shot and taken to the hospital in unknown condition. Investigators have identified 23-year-old Deonta Merriweather as the person responsible for the shooting death of Wren.
