The Illinois State Police released information regarding a collision which took place past the 186 mile marker on I-57 south around 1pm on Wednesdsay.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2012 Green Honda was rear-ended by a Silver Hyundai driven by a 32-year old woman from Effingham when traffic slowed and the latter was distracted by an electronic device.
No passengers were involved in the crash and both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The ISP wished to reiterate that all drivers are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
