Leaf collection in the City of Mattoon will begin November 12th and conclude on December 20th.
Leaves will be collected in the zone 1, 19th Street west to the city limits and Western Avenue north to the city limits on Mondays;
zone 2, from 19th Street east to the city limits and Charleston Avenue north to the city limits on Tuesdays;
zone 3, from CN Railroad east to the city limits and Charleston Avenue south to the city limits on Wednesdays;
zone 4, from CN Railroad west to the city limits and Commercial and Pine Avenues south to the city limits on Thursdays
Leaves must be in 30-gallon paper yard waste bags. No plastic bags. Bags must be placed within ten feet of the curb of a public street by 7:00 a.m. to ensure pickup on your scheduled day. You are welcome to take their leaves to the yard waste facility, which is open seven days a week during daylight hours.
Leaves must either be in paper yard waste bags or dumped loose on the leaf pile.
