Due to school district parade weather policy and today’s weather, the Mattoon High School and Mattoon Middle School will not be marching in the Mattoon Christmas Parade today.
The parade is expected to continue as scheduled. According to a post from the City of Mattoon, Illinois – Municipality Facebook page, the parade is at 1 p.m. and there is an expected break from the weather.
“We are expecting a break from the weather. (Fingers crossed) Bundle up and come out to see that jolly old elf Santa at the parade,” the post read.
The parade will step off at 21st and Western and travel east down Broadway to Peterson Park.
