On November 29th at 6:19 a.m. there was a fatal crash on I-70 West Bound near Vandalia. Investigative details say that a Peterbilt truck was forced off of the roadway into the median by an unknown semi it was passing. The Peterbilt truck became stuck in the median, partially blocking the left lane of I-70. Behind the truck was a maroon Chevy that was passing a semi when it struck the Peterbilt truck. Both the driver and passenger of the maroon Chevy were transported to St. John’s Springfield. Passenger Alesia Kelly, 54, of Pekin, IL is now deceased.
