Eddie Murphy’s SNL Episode Earns Shows Highest Ratings In Years
(New York, NY) — Eddie Murphy is fresh off the success of his first episode back with Saturday Night Live and it seems like it’s already a classic. According to reports, Murphy’s appearance was the highest-rated and most-watched episode of Saturday Night Live since May 13, 2017 with nearly 10 million viewers. Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Tracy Morgan, Alec Baldwin, Larry David, Maya Rudolph, Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, and Rachel Dratch all made guest appearances in the episode. Lizzo, who has been one of the most popular artists of the year, performed her hits “Truth Hurts” and “Good As Heck.” The last highly watched episode was hosted by Melissa McCarthy with musical guest HAIM, drawing in 10 million viewers. SNL will resume in 2020 with actor Adam Driver hosting the first episode.
