(Undated) — A top Iranian military general is dead after a strike in Iraq. Qasem Soleiman was the leader of Iran’s elite special operations unit of the Revolutionary Guard. He’s said to be among several who were killed in a strike near Baghdad International Airport early Friday. Among the others who are reported dead are leaders of Iran-backed militia groups in Iraq. In recent days, tensions have increased between the U.S. and Iran. The U.S. blamed Iran for backing violent demonstrations at the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. That mob was reportedly demonstrating against recent U.S. airstrikes on Iran-backed militias in Iraq.
