Yingying Zhang’s Family Refiles Lawsuit Against UI Counselors
(Champaign, IL) — The family of murdered Chinese scholar Yingying Zhang is refiling a lawsuit against counselors at the University of Illinois. The new suit was filed at the state level charging two social workers with negligence and wrongful death. Zhang’s estate says the counselors should have taken action after Brendt Christensen admitted in sessions to experiencing suicidal and homicidal thoughts, as well as an obsession with serial killers. Christensen was convicted last year of kidnapping and killing Zhang. Her body hasn’t been recovered.
