New County Coroner After Tragic Plane Crash Last Month
(Springfield, IL) — Sangamon County’s new coroner is officially on the job after starting Wednesday. Jim Allmon is filling the office vacated by Cinda Edwards who was tragically killed in a plane crash late last month. Allmon calls the moment bittersweet after having worked with Edwards for 10 years in the coroner’s office. Before moving into the role of coroner, Allmon served as a forensic autopsy assistant, working mostly with mass casualties and human remains recovery.
