Police Impersonator Being Investigated
(Tolono, IL) — A report of a man impersonating a police officer is being investigated by the Champaign County Sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office says the man approached a house in a black coat and hat with a police badge around his neck. He is also believed to have been carrying a gun. The homeowners didn’t answer and the man left without incident. Authorities say the man captured on the doorbell camera appears to be the same suspect in a similar impersonation case from August 2019.
