Fatal Accident in Coles County

According to the Coles County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle driven by 65-year-old Carl Wagoner of Arcola was northbound on County Road 700 East, and a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Beverly Longshaw of Humboldt was westbound on County Road 1700 North when the two failed to yield at the intersection and collided.  Wagoner was transported by helicopter to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.  Longshaw died at the scene.  The accident remains under investigation.
