Case Data for July 29: 17 new cases
Due to the high volume of cases that we are receiving throughout each day, the data reported in the press release will note a specific date. Our highest priority is isolating and quarantining all positive cases and their contacts within 24 hours of receiving their positive COVID-19 laboratory confirmed test. The sooner we isolate/quarantine the quicker we slow the spread of the virus.
Coles County COVID-19 positive cases reported are widely community spread. A number of our cases are due to large gatherings without social distancing, not wearing masks, and not following best practices. We are urging Coles County residence to stay home if you are feeling ill with any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, headache, muscle aches, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of taste or smell. If you are being tested for COVID-19, you must stay at home and self-isolate until you know your test results. A negative test does not release anyone from isolation/quarantine. Remember the 3 W’s “Wear a mask, Watch your distance, and Wash your hands.” We will be promoting this message on our Facebook and website, because it will take a community effort to keep Coles County safe.
