Taylorville Remembering Destructive Tornado Two Years Later

(Taylorville, IL) — Taylorville residents are remembering a destructive tornado that hit the city two years ago. Yesterday marked the anniversary of when a tornado damaged 500 homes across Taylorville and Hewittville in less than five minutes. More than 60 homes had major damage, and 34 were completely destroyed. Some residents are still recovering from the effects of the destructive storm. Over 200 homes have been repaired in the last two years following the devastation.
