Charleston Carnegie Public Library Announces Opening
On Monday, January 18, 2021, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced our region, Region 6, would leave Tier 3 mitigations, skip Tier 2, and move directly to Tier 1 mitigations. With this change, we are excited to announce the Charleston Carnegie Public Library will open its doors to our community on Monday, January 25, 2021.
The new Library hours will be:
Building open: Monday – Friday 10AM to 5PM
Curbside services only: Saturday 10AM – 1PM.
Closed: Sunday
We will continue to offer curbside services while the building is open, including pickup of items, paper services, and curbside connection.
While patrons are here, face masks will be required with no exceptions. Patrons will be asked to keep their visit to under 1 hour, to maintain social distancing, and to generally be patient as we all adjust to the new rules and regulations put in place to keep all of us safe.
There will be a selection of computers available to the public with a max use time of 1 hour. Study rooms A and B will be available for reservations for up to 1 hour with limited capacity, but the rotary rooms, craft room, reading room, and conference room will not be available to the public.
We are thrilled by the progress made by our region, our county, and our community. We are excited to welcome you all back to the Library, and we’ll see you Monday!
