Arcola Police Chief Tad Freezeland has announced his retirement with an announcement on the Arcola Police Department Facebook page. Here is his statement:
After much thought and careful consideration I have decided to retire from the Arcola Police Department June 1st 2021. After 29 years in Law Enforcement it is time. The Arcola community welcomed me with open arms from day one and have shown me nothing but support. I have really enjoyed getting to know you as a community and working for the mayor and City Council. I will assist the council in finding my replacement and will stay on to insure a smooth transition for as long as needed. I am proud of where the department is and how far we have progressed. You will still see me in uniform from time to time as I have agreed to stay on part-time. I am truly blessed to have served you as your Chief of Police.
