St. Louis Blues legend Bobby Plager died after a crash yesterday on I-64 in St. Louis. An original member of the Blues hockey team, Plager spent more than 50 years as part of the organization. After retiring in 1978, Plager joined the team’s front office and is often said to have developed advanced scouting techniques for the franchise. In 1990, he coached a Blues affiliate to a minor league championship and won coach of the year. He was named Blues head coach in 1992, but resigned after just 11 games, choosing instead to return to his role as vice president of player development. The Blues retired his #5 jersey in 2017. Plager was 78.
