Brett Young‘s new project, Weekends Look a Little Different These Days, is due out today (Friday, June 4th). It includes the recent chart-topping hit “Lady” as well as Brett's new single, “Not Yet.”
Weekends Look a Little Different These Days shares Brett's latest chapter in life, which includes being a husband and dad to toddler daughter Presley, with another daughter on the way this fall. While the eight-song collection touches on this special phase of his life, Brett tells us it's not all about wives and babies. “The whole thing was impacted by family. I mean, that was inevitable at this stage in my life if I wanted to continue the kind of quest for authenticity as a songwriter, I would’ve had to let myself be affected by this stage in my life. But, I think the bigger obstacle for me wasn’t so much that, but it was making sure that while I was chasing that down, I wasn’t alienating any fans that weren’t new parents or weren’t newly married. You know, you can’t just put out a nursery rhymes record because that’s the stage of life that you’re in, so I was also really conscious of making sure there was something for everybody.”
Brett's headlining The Weekends Tour is set to open on September 11th with back-to-back nights in Fort Worth, TX. The 33-city trek features special guests Maddie & Tae and Filmore with Ryan Hurd and Matt Ferranti on select shows.
