Illinois State Police District 10 Announce Results of Operation Double Deuce
The Illinois State Police (ISP) District 10 Interim Commander Ryan Starrick announces the results of Operation Double Deuce. The operation was conducted by District 10 Troopers during the month of August and focused on Interstate 57 from mileposts 227-257 in Champaign County. “Aggressive driving and excessive speeds are common along this stretch of roadway,” stated Interim Commander Starrick. “The intent of the operation was to change driver behavior while being charitable to the inadvertent violator,” he concluded. During this Operation, Troopers provided focused enforcement efforts on the fatal four which include; speeding, distracted driving, driving under the influence, and occupant restraint violations. In addition to traffic enforcement Troopers also focused on Motor Carrier Safety Inspections and Criminal Interdiction.
