Bears Intercept Three Fourth-Quarter Passes In Win Over Cincinnati
(Chicago, IL) — The Bears defense forced turnovers on four consecutive drives en route to a 20-17 win against the Bengals at Soldier Field. Roquan Smith scored a touchdown on an interception return to make the score 17-3. Angelo Blackson and Jaylon Johnson also intercepted passes, and Tashaun Gipson recovered a fumble. Andy Dalton completed nine of 11 passes for 56 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game in the second quarter with a knee injury. First-round pick Justin Fields went six of 13 for 60 yards and an interception in his first game with extended playing time. The Bears improve to 1-and-1, and they’re the only team with a win in the NFC North. Joe Burrow completed 19 passes on 31 attempts for Cincinnati, passing for 207 yards, two touchdowns, and three fourth-quarter interceptions in the loss. Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase each scored touchdowns for the second consecutive week. The Bengals are now 1-and-1.
