Fanatics Acquires Topps Trading Cards
(Jacksonville, FL) — Sportswear company Fanatics is acquiring Topps trading cards. CNBC reported the deal on Monday that reportedly adds up to close to half a billion dollars. The reported deal comes after Fanatics obtained the MLB’s trading card rights this past summer. Fanatics is also set to get the rights for Major League Soccer, German soccer league Bundesliga, and Formula 1 racing. Last year, the company acquired the trading card licenses for the National Football League Players Association and National Basketball Association. A formal announcement from Topps and Fanatics is expected today.
