Cubs Reach Five-Year Deal With Japanese Star Suzuki

(Mesa, AZ) — The Cubs are locking up Japanese star outfielder Seiya [[ SAY-yah ]] Suzuki with a five-year, 85-million-dollar contract. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports the deal is the largest ever for a Japanese position player. The Cubs will also pay a posting fee for the 27-year-old.
