GoFundMe: Communities Rallies After Deadly Teutopolis Accident
GoFundMe has released a list of verified GoFundMe accounts that have been created to help people affected by the hazmat spill in Teutopolis that killed five people.
Help the Expenses for the Bryan Family
“Kenny, Walker, and Rosie were tragically taken from us as a result from the accident that affected the whole Teutopolis community,” reads the fundraiser created by family member Marranda Kincaid.
In loving memory of Vasile Cricovan
“It is with devastating pain in my heart that I inform you that our beloved son, husband, father, brother, cousin and friend passed away on the evening of September 29 following a tragic road accident. A truck carrying anhydrous ammonium overturned in front of him, he braked and got out of his truck and inhaled toxic vapors, after which he had a respiratory failure.”
Anja Dangelmaier’s Support and Recovery Fund
“Anja was involved in a very serious chemical spill accident on Friday night in Effingham, IL on her way to a swim meet against Ohio State,” this GoFundMe reads. “Anja and 3 teammates were behind a tanker truck on Hwy 40 just east of Effingham, when the tanker lost control and over turned… Anja and two of her teammates were airlifted to different hospitals, while one went by ambulance. All have similar chemical burn symptoms in varying degrees – lungs, eyes, and various body parts.”
Elmore family displaced from Teutopolis Illinois
“We are fundraising for Jordan and Megan Elmore of Teutopolis, Illinois… That accident took place in the front yard of the Elmore’s home. 4,000 gallons of anhydrous was released on their lawn.”
Support and Recovery Fund: Mizzou Club Swimmers
“Although the students were not directly involved in the truck crash, they were still caught up in the horrible aftermath,” the fundraiser reads. “The 4 students who had witnessed this immediately got out of the car and ran in an attempt to protect themselves from the harmful gas spilling out into the air. As they all ran in different directions they ended up falling into ditches on the side of the road where they remained until being found by EMS.”
