Mike James Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Slater Trier a 2024 Mattoon High School graduate.

(MATTOON, Illinois – June 21, 2024) Slater Trier has been named the 2024 recipient of the Mike James Memorial Scholarship.

Slater Trier will be attending the University of Tennessee and majoring in aerospace engineering.  The Mike James Memorial Scholarship was established in 2002 by Mattoon resident, Lorri James, in honor of her late husband and is awarded each year to an MHS senior football player. He will be receiving $2000.00 total over the course of the next 4 years.

Scholarship recipients are voted on by a selection committee each year.
