Rep. Adam Niemerg: Pritzker Administration funding anti-ICE organizations and activities
Dieterich, IL – State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich), Republican Spokesman on the House Immigration and Human Rights Committee, is calling on the Pritzker Administration to immediately cease all funding for Centro de Trabajadores Unidos, which is actively working to impede ICE raids.
More than $1M in taxpayer dollars is included in the Illinois state budget for Centro de Trabajadores Unidos, which is a group that “exists to confront the ICE raids…(and) works to dismantle the systems and institutions based on capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy and climate change that exploit and oppress our community.”
“Not one dime of taxpayer money should be going to organizations engaging in lawless activity,” Niemerg said. “Funding for Centro de Trabajadores Unidos must stop immediately. This is an alarming situation that should concern every law-abiding citizen in the state.”
Niemerg said taxpayer money going to non-governmental organizations is nothing more than a way for far-left politicians to pay off their friends.
“This is a scam and we as taxpayers are paying the price,” Niemerg said. “Funding radical organizations is not an appropriate use of tax dollars. We need an immediate investigation into the funding going to Centro de Trabajadores Unidos and other organizations like it. If they are receiving tax dollars – they need to be held accountable.”
