The Mattoon Public Library is getting ready for some big changes, and they’re asking locals to be part of the conversation.
The library has announced plans to tackle some long-overdue updates to its historic Carnegie building. They are talking new windows, a refreshed heating and air conditioning system, and a full review of how the library’s spaces are actually being used. The idea is to set the building up for the next 30 years while keeping it’s classic character intact.
Here’s the thing… you don’t have to be a regular library-goer to weigh in. Even if it’s been a while since you’ve walked through those doors, the library wants to know what you think. They’ve put together a quick, anonymous survey to gather community input as they kick off this process.
If you’ve got questions or need a hand filling out the survey, you can reach Library Contact Carl Walworth by email at carl@mattoonlibrary.org or by phone at 217-234-2621.
Be apart of the change that keeps your local library thriving for the next thirty years!
