A Greenup man, who had worked as a school bus driver for the Charleston School District, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for disseminating child sexual abuse material.
Karl Kimble, 55, was arrested last May after investigators from the Illinois Attorney General’s office searched his Greenup residence and discovered evidence of child sexual abuse material. In addition to the 19-year sentence on the dissemination count, (a Class X felony carrying up to 30 years,) Kimble also pled guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography, receiving four years on each of those counts.
Once Kimble completes his prison sentences, he will face six additional years of mandatory supervised release, three years for each possession charge, which will be served consecutively rather than at the same time.
The investigation was conducted by the Office of Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, which operates the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
