Emergency officials are asking residents in parts of Fayette County to evacuate as a precaution following a large anhydrous tank accident.
The incident occurred on Mulberry Grove Road near Persimmon Avenue. As a precautionary measure, emergency services are recommending evacuation of a three-mile radius around the scene. The affected area includes Fayette County residents between 000 Street and 200 Street, and from Illinois Route 185 to 1450 Avenue.
It’s important to note that as of now, no leaks have been detected. This evacuation is just a recommendation while the situation is assessed, not a response to a confirmed release.
If you live within that area, officials are asking that you leave until the situation is confirmed secure.
