Equifax CEO Quits Following Massive Data Breach
(New York, NY) — The chief executive officer and chairman of Equifax is leaving his job following a massive data breach at the credit-reporting service. Richard Smith announced his retirement today. Smith has been summoned to appear next month before the Senate Banking Committee to explain the data breach that exposed personal information of 143 million people. The breach has sparked numerous investigations at the state and federal level.
