An Effingham home sustained extensive damage in a fire yesterday morning. According the Effingham Fire Department, a neighbor reported seeing smoke coming from the home in the 700 block of Parkview Street at 6:43. Upon arrival by fire crews, smoke was coming from three sides of the residence. The damage is estimated at $90,000 for the structure, and $25,000 for its contents. The cause remains under investigation.
