(Washington, DC) — The Air Force is admitting that the domestic abuse charges against the former airman who killed 26 people in a Texas church shooting should have been reported to the FBI. Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson said an investigation is underway to find out why the conviction wasn’t passed on to authorities. Devin Kelley was court-martialed in 2012 on domestic violence charges, but his conviction wasn’t submitted to the national database used in gun sales background checks. At least 20 others were injured in the shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs last Sunday.
