Updates: Cops Checked Out At Hospital
(St. Louis, MO) — Police say two St. Louis officers have been checked out at a hospital and released after being shot while struggling with a suspect. The officers were following up on a shots fired report on a roadway from last night. While trying to take a man into custody he pulled out a handgun and shot both cops, who were saved by their protective vests. A standoff has been underway since the shooting around 7:30 local time this morning.

Roads in the area are closed as negotiators try to convince the man to surrender peacefully.

Reports Say 2 Officers Wounded in St. Louis County
(St. Louis, MO) — Reports say two St. Louis-area police officers are wounded and the gunman is barricaded inside a home. KMOV reports the shootings occurred in north St. Louis County. According to officials, the shots fired at the officers hit their vests. The officers are said to be conscious and were speaking with investigators. It’s not clear what led to the shooting.
