Illinois’ latest jobs report shows a drop in local unemployment rates across the state. But the Illinois Department of Employment Security says a handful of downstate cities also lost jobs over last year. Springfield, Danville, and Decatur all lost jobs. The Quad Cities, Rockford, and Bloomington-Normal all added jobs. The report says most of Illinois’ job gains came from Chicago and the suburbs.
