According to a recent press release from Illinois State Police District 10, troopers were dispatched to a single unit traffic crash Monday, February 5th at 4:50 a.m. along I-74 westbound in Vermilion County near milepost 212 involving a truck-trailer unit. Preliminary details indicate Unit 1 left the roadway and struck the bridge of the overpass causing complete lane blockage. Debris from unit 1 was in westbound and partially eastbound lanes causing traffic to be re-routed westbound for approximately two hours. The driver, who’s name at this time is not being revealed, was transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries and cited for improper lane usage.
