DCFS Case Worker Beaten In Sterling Visit Dies
(Springfield, IL) — State leaders are mourning the loss of a child protection worker who was beaten into a coma during a home visit last fall. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services yesterday said Pamela Knight has died. Police say Andrew Surcher savagely beat Knight during a home visit last fall, and he’s being held on assault charges that will likely be upgraded. Knight worked out of the DCFS office in Sterling.
