Reba McEntire will host the 53rd annual ACM Awards in April. While the superstar is excited to helm the event, she admits she was disappointed that no females were nominated for Entertainer of the Year.
The male-dominated category nominated Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapletonand Keith Urban for the coveted honor. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, McEntire says despite the heavy male recognition she has faith that things will lean in favor of the women soon.
“It’s disappointing that there’s no female in the Entertainer of the Year category,” she says. “But the country music business is very cyclical. It’ll go very traditional with the music, or it will go very contemporary. The girls dominate or the boys dominate. So, it’s coming around. I have faith.”
