A Ramsey resident was transported to Fayette County Hospital following a personal injury crash involving a deer the afternoon of Tuesday, May 8th. Preliminary details from Illinois State Police District 12 indicate Gary Custard, 75, of Ramsey, IL was southbound on US 51, just 4 miles north of Vandalia when he swerved to miss and deer and drove off the roadway and stuck the ditch/embankment. Custard was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
