A downtown Vandalia restaurant was destroyed by fire last night. According to Fire Chief Keith Meadows, a call came in just after 11:00 for the fire at Capital View Steakhouse. The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate as the cause of the blaze is still not known.
