Public invited to view entries in arts council’s third annual Photography Show
MATTOON – Over 120 photos have been entered in the Mattoon Arts Council’s third annual Photography Show. Professionals, amateurs and students entered photos in the categories of color, black and white, and images representing this year’s theme, “Land of Lincoln: A Bicentennial Celebration,” in honor of the State of Illinois’ 200th birthday.
Photos will be on display for a special exhibit from August 23-26 in the Lone Elm Room of the train depot, 1718 Broadway Ave. (please use the east door off the parking lot). The exhibit will be open from 5-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 23; from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, August 24; from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 26. The public is invited, and admission is free.
All photos will be judged and awards will be presented during a reception beginning at 7 p.m. August 23. Consolidated Communications sponsored cash prizes for the winners, and ribbons will be presented to those receiving honorable mention.
