Twitter Widens Crackdown On Election Interference
(San Francisco, CA) — Twitter is going to cast a wider net when it comes to stopping people from using the platform to maliciously spread disinformation. The idea is to try and clamp down on the ability of some to try and influence elections. To that end the platform is broadening the types of bad behaviors it looks for, from fake accounts to spam. The company is also cracking down on accounts that share leaked and hacked info, like the hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee in 2016 and emails that were released ahead of the French election.
