One person was killed in an accident in Shelby County Wednesday night. According to the Illinois State Police, 63-year-old David Arkebauer, of Oconee failed to yield the right- of-way on Route 51 at Center Street to 58-year-old Michael McDonald of Ramsey. Arkebauer, who was not wearing his seat belt, died at the scene. McDonald sustained minor injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
