Hurricane Michael Now Cat 2 Storm
(Undated) — Hurricane Michael is now a Category 2 storm. The National Hurricane Center’s latest advisory has Michael with maximum sustained winds at 100 miles-per-hour. The hurricane is located just under 400 miles south of Panama City, Florida and moving to the north-northwest at 12 miles-per-hour. Life-threatening storm surge, hurricane force winds and heavy rainfall is expected along the northeastern Gulf Coast. Hurricane, Tropical Storm and Storm Surge Watches and Warnings are all up along the Gulf Coast. The center of Michael is anticipated to make landfall over the Florida Panhandle or Big Bend area tomorrow and then move northeastward across the southeastern U.S. tomorrow night into Thursday.
