One juvenile was taken into custody after a hand-written threat was found in a restroom at Paris High School. Authorities say the note was discovered Tuesday. The Paris Police Department soon began its investigation, interviewed several students and reviewed surveillance video before arresting making an arrest.
The school issued a statement that reads:
Dear Parents/Community Members:
“Paris High School would like to thank the Paris Police Department, high school faculty, students, parents, and community for their assistance in identifying and containing a safety threat within our school community. On November 27, a threat was located on a bathroom stall at Paris High School. Police were immediately contacted and began investigating alongside school administration. On November 28, police were on site to continue the investigation and ensure the safety of all students. Within an hour of the start of school, an individual had been identified who allegedly wrote the statement. Charges have been sent to
the State Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges. The male was initially cited for transmitting a threat of violence, death, or bodily harm against persons at a school. Safety is the top priority of the school administration and local law enforcement. Paris High School encourages all students, parents, and community members to continue to work together to say something when you see/hear something.”
