Republican Candidate Looks To Ask For Macon County Sheriff’s Recount

(Decatur, IL) — The candidate who lost the race for sheriff in Decatur by one vote will likely ask to count the ballots again. Republican Jim Root is looking to ask for a full recount, possibly as early as tomorrow. Root lost to Democrat Tony “Chubby” Brown by a single vote back in November. Root says a discovery recount found extra votes in his favor, and wonders what a full recount may find.
