Illinois Governor Signs New School Construction Law
(Springfield, IL) — School districts in Illinois could save a little money the next time they build a new school. IllinoisGovernor Bruce Rauner yesterday signed a new law that allows schools to move ahead with design-build projects. The idea is to hire architects, engineers and builders as a team. State Rep. Thaddeus Jones says design-build projects are faster and cheaper because they allow work to start while the final design touches are still being worked through.
