Veterinarians Offers Tips To Keep Pets Happy During Holidays
(Lafayette, IN) — Veterinarians say the holidays are a fun time for family and friends, but not for many pets. Cats and dogs, especially those used to more quiet homes, need a safe place to hide when the house fills up with holiday cheer. They also remind pet owners that many Christmas items pose a real danger. Tinsel can kill when eaten and mistletoe, ivy and holly are toxic to pets. Chocolate can also make cats and dogs sick or even kill them if they ingest enough of it. The confusion and overstimulation of the holidays also makes Christmas a bad time to introduce a new pet to a household.
