Fewer Filing For Unemployment
(Washington, DC) — Americans seeking unemployment benefits have dropped to levels not seen since November 1969. The Labor Department reports this morning 199-thousand workers filed initial unemployment claims last week. That’s a decrease of about 13-thousand from the previous week. Analysts see this latest report as a sign the job market is strong, even though the partial government shutdown is ongoing.
